Your assistance is essential in our continuing efforts to rebuild and improve the Ag Museum. Every gift, regardless of size, is appreciated. A $25 donation can feed our barnyard friends for a day. A $100 donation can assist in the planting of our annual gardens. A $1,000 gift can go a long way toward keeping life in Small Town, Mississippi or revitalizing our historic Farmstead. All donations to the Ag Museum Foundation are tax deductible. Your gift will truly make a difference in keeping this living history museum alive and thriving.
Monetary donations can be made to the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 organization. All donations made to the Museum are tax deductible. Donations are accepted by hand delivery or US Mail. The Museum will accept cash, check or credit card.
Donating of Artifacts
In November of 2014, the Ag Museum had a fire, limiting the number and size of artifact donations we are able to accept. If you are interested in making an artifact donation, please call 601.432.4500. A committee will address donations on a case-by-case basis.
If you are interested in making a financial donation, please visit the MS Ag Museum Foundation website or call 601.432.4500.
Requests to accept donations for the Museum collections are considered for three categories:
- Permanent Collection: The permanent collection consists of those objects which directly relate to the purpose of the museum.
- Interpretive/Education Collection: The interpretive collection consists of those expendable objects which contribute to the educational programs of the museum and are available to the public for examination.
- Prop/Equipment Collection: The prop/equipment collection consists of those expendable objects which do not relate directly to the purpose of the Museum but contribute to and enhance the visual and educational impact of exhibits of the site.
Contact Grant Briscoe at Grant@mdac.ms.gov or 601-432-4507 if you would like an artifact to be considered for donation to the museum.
Please check the website again at a later date and track our progress on our Facebook page and our monthly newsletter.
